FIREFIGHTER APTITUDE PREP

Practice until the
format disappears.

1,200 original questions across mechanical reasoning, numeracy, literacy and abstract reasoning — every single one with a worked explanation, because knowing you got it wrong teaches you nothing on its own.

WHAT IT IS

A practice app that actually
tells you why.

Drill one skill area at a time, or sit a full 40-question mock exam against a 30-minute clock, drawn fresh every time. Then read the reasoning behind every answer you got — right or wrong.

NUMERACY

A fire crew uses 100 litres of water in 10 minutes at a constant flow rate. At the same rate, how many litres will they use in 30 minutes?

A150 L
B300 L
C100 L
D360 L
EXPLANATION

Find the flow rate, then scale it up. Rate = 100 L ÷ 10 min = 10 L/min. Over 30 min: 10 × 30 = 300 L.

Every answer is worked through

Know which hour to spend next

Scores broken down by skill area, with your strongest and your focus area called out, and a trend line across every session.

DRAWN, NOT SCRAPED

Over 1,800 purpose-drawn diagrams

Pulleys, gears, levers, hydraulics, circuits and pattern grids — all drawn specifically for these questions, at a size you can actually read on a phone. No recycled question bank sits behind this app.

THE FOUR SKILL AREAS

300 questions in each.

The four areas a firefighter aptitude assessment tests, each with an equal, deliberately built bank behind it.

Mechanical Reasoning

Gears, levers, pulleys, hydraulics, forces and how things move — the area most people find hardest, and the one with the most diagrams behind it.

300 QUESTIONS

Numeracy

Ratios, rates, percentages, unit conversion and the practical calculations the job actually asks for — flow rates, pressures, ladder lengths, crew timings.

300 QUESTIONS

Literacy

Comprehension, inference and clear written communication — built on realistic documents: standard operating procedures, incident reports, safety bulletins, station notices.

300 QUESTIONS

Abstract Reasoning

Pattern sequences, 3×3 matrices and odd-one-out problems that test reasoning independently of anything you already know.

300 QUESTIONS

WHO IT'S FOR

Anyone sitting a firefighter
aptitude assessment.

Career or volunteer, first attempt or fourth. If there's a written aptitude stage between you and the job, this is built for it.

01

First-time applicants

You've never sat a psychometric assessment and don't know what the questions even look like. Start in study mode and let the explanations teach you the patterns.

02

Reapplying after a near miss

You know the format already and need volume plus honest feedback on where you're losing marks. Sit mock exams and read the per-section breakdown.

03

Anyone rusty on the maths

School was a while ago and ratios, percentages and mechanical advantage need dusting off. 600 numeracy and mechanical questions, all worked through.

HOW IT BEHAVES

Built to stay out of your way.

No account to make, no notifications to turn off, no version of this app that works better if you pay again.

Works completely offline

Every question and diagram ships inside the app. It runs on a train, in a basement, or anywhere with no signal.

Nothing is collected about you

No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising SDKs. Your practice history is saved on your device and never leaves it.

No account, no sign-up

Open it and start. There is no email address to hand over and no login standing between you and the questions.

Pay once, own all of it

No subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no ads and nothing to upsell you once you're inside. One price, everything included.

FireApt app icon

FireApt is coming soon.

Launching on iPhone and Android. No practice app can tell you what will be on your assessment — what it can do is make the formats familiar, so on the day your attention goes on the problem rather than working out what's being asked.
